Other state gasoline and diesel taxes include a Petroleum Business Tax and supplementary Petroleum Business Tax adjusted annually based on the PPI. The combined rate for gasoline is 17.7 cpg and 15.95 cpg for diesel. The state levies a 8 cpg sales tax on gasoline and diesel (8.75 cpg within the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District) and counties levy their own local sales taxes on a percentage or cpg basis. Neither of these sales taxes are included because they are not explicitly marked for transportation. Non-transportation purposes: 0.05 cpg Petroleum Testing Fee (gasoline only) and a 0.3 cpg spill fee.
